Cookie Policy

Definition of cookies

Cookies are short fragments of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store on the client (the browser) information to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or later, even after days (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, based on user preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (PC, Tablet or Smartphone).

In the remainder of this document we will use the term "cookie" with reference to cookies and all similar technologies.

Types of cookies

Based on the characteristics and use of cookies we can distinguish different categories:

  • Technical cookies
These are cookies normally transmitted personally by the site manager for purposes strictly related to the good and correct functioning of the site itself. This type of cookie does not constitute a technically suitable tool for affecting the privacy of the user's browsing.

This family of cookies includes:

  • Browsing (or session) cookies
These are cookies necessary to guarantee the safe and efficient use of the website and its services, allowing, for example, to authenticate to reserved areas or to make a purchase. They are deleted at the end of the user's browsing "session" (hence the name) by closing the browser.
  • Functional cookies
These cookies, although not essential, improve the functionality of the site as they allow the user to express persistent preferences regarding some aspects of navigation (for example selecting the language or memorizing some favorite products within an e-commerce site). Their deactivation compromises the use of the services accessible from login. The public part of the website remains normally usable.

On the website, persistent cookies are not used for promotional purposes or to carry out user tracking activities.

  • Analytics (or statistical) cookies
These are cookies used to collect and analyze statistical information on accesses/visits to the website. On the website, statistical cookies are not used to monitor or collect personal identification information or to track user behavior. Deactivating these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality.
  • Profiling cookies
These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously or otherwise) the user's preferences and improve their browsing experience. The website does not use cookies of this type.

Cookies in turn can be:

  • "first party" when they are managed directly by the owner and/or manager/manager of the website;
  • "third party" when the cookies are set up and managed by third parties who are not the owner and/or manager of the website visited by the user. This happens because elements such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links or specific codes can be inserted on the site in order to integrate additional functions offered by third parties.

Given the aforementioned classification, it is specified that the website uses exclusively technical cookies strictly necessary for the correct functioning of the site. However, it does not use profiling cookies, for which prior communication to the Privacy Guarantor and prior acquisition of the user's free informed consent becomes necessary.
